Cover of Cat-Tales: Dearly BelovedDearly Beloved

The long-awaited wedding of Dick Grayon and Barbara Gordon, not the couple of the series, which is what makes it a stellar act of fan service such as the official franchise wouldn't dream of giving us. Fans of Dick and Babs had been smacked around almost as much as Bat/Cat fans, so it wasn't surprising that they drifted towards Cat-Tales with it's anti-DC POV. They probably didn't expect such a reward, for like Bat/Cat fans, they were "used to crumbs."

Bruce and Selina are still at the heart of the series, however, and the story opens with a pained and hungover Selina waking at the manor to a grinning Bruce and the phrase "Good morning, Mrs. Wayne." Then the story flashes back to explain.

It is a riveting hook, and the the story plays out beautifully. It also contains potentially the best line ever written on Ra' al Ghul since the advent of the character:

..::Oh, for godssake, boys! Just unzip, whip’em out, and let’s all get on with our goddamn lives! ::..

Like all Cat-Tales, Dearly Beloved can be read online on the Cat-Tales website or mobile mirror, and can be downloaded as an ebook or pdf, which is sized for printing at Cafe Press. It is collected in Cat-Tales Book 2.
